Hah, I got an aim message from some dude saying that I got the last name from Yu Yu Hakasho, which I got the first name from. You are correct though, Yuskei Sto Helit is the son of Susan (excuse the rping reference) and Lobsang, the dude from Theif Of Time. Good book that is, damn good book.

I'm with you. I have mentioned at least three times now that I am female and that I have a male character for PvP, and that he looks like Conan The Barbarian. I've not been insulted about it yet.
I think we should give this phenomenon its own name, like "cyberhomophobia".

First of all, you need to like the way your character looks. If you create one, and you think, "Wow, that's cool." then play it. Gender shouldn't really matter. If I was inclined to play a warrior, I'd choose a female warrior even though I'm male. Male warriors just don't look that impressive to me. Maybe it's the beer bellies.
And why is that when two men hug their gay but when two girls hug their girls? Because people are stupid, and have social norms that you need to abide by. You break one of those norms and people automatically think they know everything about. I used to help book shows for an industrial music promotion company. Obviously, I don't look normal. Not only do I like it better the way I look, but it also helped me in business. However, since people are stupid, as soon as they saw me, it was all "So, you were the high school nerd, eh?" or "Did you have a troubled childhood?" It drives me nuts, that that kind of mentality comes over into an RPG game at the same time.
I can't remember the comedian, but one of my favorite lines, ever:
"My brothers a total moron. He hates gay guys, and thinks homosexuality is terrible. You show him to guys hugging and he'll flip out. But you show him to girls making out and ask him what's missing, and he'll say "Me."
It's all in the "The world should cater to what men think is good" mentality that were still slowly weaning away from, left over from the 50's.

By playing a male character you wont have horny tenage boys asking you your gender. So to them your just another 'guy' and dodge the poorly spelt attempts by said horny teenagers to somehow 'mate' with you online

i do have to agree on the horny teenage guys. AND horny old guys. Does my head in. Happens anywhere nad everywhere on the internet; which is why only a few trusted communities know my gender. So far this forum meets my approval, although the actual in-game community doesn't; in-game i make sure people know that this guy in the party with me is my real life boyfriend
Luggage... you used to be on Black and White forums by any chance?

Pevil: no, think GW is one of the few games since quake 1 that has made me active in a community.
Crito: yea and you have to take the smallest size if you are doing a warrior - cause it will allways irritate some stuck up git when you beat him down.

I didnt read the whole threat but someone has probably said this...
My character is , like my name, a big crack head...
He is the largest scale warrior monk , with a mohawk and silver armor.
The reason i chose this is because i never play anything other than warrior, and being a guy, i chose a guy to play..
Now i see girls all time who are guys and ive wonder'd the same, as to why they would play a girl...
the models for the males in this game, for necro for example, look lame as hell..
The only thing i dont get, is certain guys "thing" for non real girls...
Ive never had a hard time getting a girl, but even my bro is hasnt either, still likes cartoon girls.
sometimes he will send me a picture of a animation girl who is pretty, (obviously CG) and he will expect me to hoot and haller.
If its not a real girl in real life, how can i then be turned on by her or even have any interest in looking at her.
I like my girls in 3D, and i dont mean in a video game.

When I first became aware of this, I to questioned the masculinity of the said people (Im from Texas what do you expect ). However, I now view it as the person is writing a novel. The author can creat a female main hero without needing to actually be a woman. I will never creat a female avie, but I dont minde if others do.
EDIT: LMAO, that pic is truely funney.

I guess everyone who played Tomb Raider, one of the most popular video games in history, was gender confused.

Every stare from the top of a female Ranger when she shoots? Boobie jiggle.
There's an old saying: "There are no female mudders."
I believe I read an article a while back that out of all gamers, only 8% are actually female.

ive asked a few "males" why they play females and the one constant answer is that they "like to look at them." while i admit the female characters, like much of the scenery, are atheistically pleasing, i find it rather desperate that males would create a female character just to stare at its cartoon booty in combat. i mean, if u like the female form, fine, meet some real life girls and stare at them.
freedom of expression is great, but man is it creepy when a half-naked female character called Princess Angel chats with me and i find out its a 37 year old male plumber from jersey.
unless one of you girly-boys sets the record straight (pun intended), the obvious choices for a conclusion are:
1. GW has a ton of virtual pervs
2. GW has a ton of closet dwellers
3. Kurt Cobain was right......everyone is gay
Bram (plz, call me princess)
|
Wait a sec! If a man is playing a woman I don't see how that makes him gay. Maybe the men playing as men are truely the gay ones...ya think?
